Margaret remembers your projects so you can keep moving. This page explains what is stored, why, and how you can ask for it to be deleted.
What Margaret stores
- Account information, if you sign in: your email and a sign-in identifier from email and password, or Google.
- Project content you add: names, outcomes, context, notes, updates, next steps, and tasks.
- Guest session data, if you use Margaret without an account: the same kinds of project content, stored on a temporary guest session rather than an email.
- Waitlist emails, if you join from margaret.so: the address you submit, so we can get in touch. If you typed or spoke a note first, that note is stored with the email.
- A short diagnostic log in this browser, used to understand how notes are matched to projects.
- Basic technical information in service logs, such as a user identifier and error details, when something fails.
Why it is stored
Margaret stores this so it can remember your projects, route updates to the right one, generate relevant suggestions, restore your information when you come back, and reach you if you joined the waitlist.
AI processing
When Margaret names a project, suggests a finish line, proposes a next step, or writes today's tasks, it sends the relevant text to Anthropic through Margaret's own server. That text can include what you just typed and stored project context.
Anthropic processes those requests under its own terms. Margaret does not train a Margaret model on your content.
Data practices
Margaret does not sell your data.
You can see and edit your own projects in the app. Google Firebase provides sign-in, storage, hosting, and functions. Anthropic receives the text needed for suggestions. Authorised people operating Margaret may access data where needed to keep the product working, including service logs.
Without an account, your projects live on a guest session. Start over clears those guest projects. They are not attached to an email, and they may be lost if that session ends.
With an account, your projects are stored on that account and come back when you sign in. Signing in does not copy guest projects onto the account.
Your control
If you are using a guest session, Start over clears your guest projects.
